RESULTS OF THE 115th CATALONIA ABSOLUTE CHAMPIONSHIP
Club Esportiu Laietà shone brightly from October 2 to 8 in the celebration of the 115th Absolute Catalonia Championship / 41st Joan Margets i Ferrer “In Memoriam” Trophy.
A competition with a rich history and a consolidated tradition that has seen the biggest icons of Catalan Tennis pass through its courts.
On Sunday 8 October, the individual finals shook the stands of the Club. In an exciting and tight women’s final, Laia Petretic, coming from the preliminary phase, prevailed with determination over Judith Hernández by 6/1 7/5, in a battle that exceeded two hours of play. In the men’s field, Manel Lázaro, recent champion of Junior Catalonia, staged a spectacular comeback against Jordi Mas De Ugarte, also a finalist in the previous edition. Lázaro emerged as the absolute champion after overcoming a match point against, winning in three sets and more than three hours of intense competition (2/6 6/2 7/5).
The doubles finals, held on Friday 6 October, in the men’s draw, the pair formed by Marc López and Josep Maria Minguella showed their superiority against Erik Renart and Albert Mondón, winning (6/1 6/3 ). Laia Petretic repeated her triumph in the mixed category, together with David Puig, beating Judith Hernández and Nezar Houban (7/5 6/4).
Congratulations to the champions and all the participants for helping to make this edition a memorable celebration of tennis at Club Esportiu Laietà. We continue to make history and foster passion for this sport.
BASKETBALL CHRONICLES
New day of matches
Great start to this weekend’s day at the club’s pavilion, where our Premini Femení, the first grassroots women’s team in the club’s history, made its debut, playing a good game; then it was the turn of the Men’s Premini, where they played their best match so far and we closed the morning with the Fuchsia Mini, where they demonstrated great team play.
In addition, as visitors, the Mini Blanc debuted by offering a good game from a practically new team, the Pre-Infantil, also debuted and did so forcefully, thus achieving a victory. Junior B continues to have a great dynamic and they have already won three in a row.
Later in the afternoon we saw the Cadet B and Junior C matches, the former losing after playing a very physical game, and the latter getting a win on his debut thanks to the great attitude of the players.
Also, they traveled to the home of the rival, Senior B, who lost by the minimum after a competitive game from start to finish, and Junior A, despite continuing to improve more and more, are yet to achieve their first victory .
RESTORATION REGULATIONS
We are on our way to three years of having a new external operator managing the restaurant service.
Already fully adapted, the operators were asked to draw up standardized operating rules, as also exist for other club services, with the aim that everyone can get to know them and avoid misunderstandings or confusing situations that lead to to bad experiences.
The club’s professional team wrote a first draft that was compared with the restaurateurs themselves, so that, subsequently and with new contributions, the regulations were approved by the board of directors.
These regulations regulate and develop aspects of the restaurant such as service hours, billing systems, order delivery procedures, current price regulation, incident and conflict management, and specific service on the terrace.
